The swatch book was released just a few weeks ago, and this weekend while I was laying on the couch with the sickies I made this book for my daughter. (click the picture to see the entire book)
Overall I was very impressed with how quickly I could make this book. It took about 2 hours from a template, and remember I was sick and moving VERY slowly.
This is the perfect book to showcase someone or something. Grandparents will love these for Christmas gifts. I have heard of them being used for address books, recipe cards, calendars. Just like any of our other projects, you are only limited by your imagination.

My last post I showed what I made for decorations. I ordered them, but then our whole household come down with the _____ flu. That put us out of commission for a week, but I'm BACK!

Even my pest control guy wasn't impressed by my cobweb door decorations that appeared out of nowhere, so it's a good thing I saw this idea this evening. :) I was inspired by fall decorations by Amazing Mae She is incredibly creative. She used stencils to make her decoration, and they are beautiful. I created mine in Heritage Makers because it is much quicker and easier for me.
I started with a 12x12 page and decorated the two halves horizontally. When I get these back I will spray adhesive/decoupage to some wood scraps that are in the garage. My husband has all the tools, so I will be able to make two holes in the corners and dress up my fall wreath for Oct and November.

Here's the poster I just made. It is a 12x18 poster and took about 15 minutes...
Of course I just did the easy part, I need to make sure I have all the picture. I am pretty sure I do they are all in different places though, so I need to do a little searching. This family tree takes us back to my kids great-great grandparents. What I'll do is insert names and faces for each place holder, then I'll make 12x12 page of just faces and decoupage those to tile. I will put a magnet on the back of each 1x1 tile. Also, this poster I just made I'll put in a frame with sheet metal, so that everything will stick together. It will look something like this:
Then my kids can move the magnetized tiles around and learn about their heritage. I may just use these for Christmas gifts as well...shhhh

Today is our anniversary...10 years! I cannot believe how much has changed since that day; kids, moves, deployments, job changes, and I could go on and on. The good news is we still love each other.
I was counting last night the years we have been together for our anniversary. Only SIX out of the last 10, including today. Somehow we manage to be on opposite sides of the world on this particular day! So for our anniversary, I created a card this morning in Heritage Makers and emailed him the link to the card. There was no way I could have mailed it this year for him to receive on time, so I did what I could.
I have this 12x12 page decoupaged onto a tile in our front room. It is one of my very favorites.
Isn't he sweet? He stole a piece of my heart almost 4 years ago... I almost tricked you into thinking he was brand new, didn't I? : )
More recently have fallen in love with the Heritage Makers template gallery. Maybe I'm a little slow. It has been around for almost a year, but now I can truly tell you that it is fantastic! This weekend I started and finished my little boys baby book in TWO hours. It is ordered and should be here later on this week.
